This has been a scary week
with new urgency every day about the threat the COVID-19 virus presents to our
region. The importance of social distancing became a new reality in all
our lives. For me, this means postponing
a dream I had to meet as many of you as possible between now and the April 7
election. I’ve been walking my MCC voting district—seeking to talk to
voters about my aspirations for continued service on Metropolitan Community College’s
Board of Trustees.
And, while I am still
striving to walk as many neighborhoods as possible, I will not be
knocking on any doors. Out of respect
for the call to limit physical contact to slow the spread of this virus, I will
only be leaving a flyer of information about my candidacy.
My sincere wish is for
each and every one of us to maintain good health and human connection during
this crisis. Let’s use our devices to stay in touch— especially with those
most vulnerable in our neighborhoods. I
also want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the folks in healthcare, public
safety and many more who go to work every day to protect us all during this
critical time.
